Is it just me or does everyone think we all have quirky food habits?

Is it just me or does everyone think we all have quirky food habits?

An American woman has been publicly shamed this week after being caught dipping deep fried chicken into her coca cola and eating it.

Alexa Greenfield says she was hung over and it’s something her dad taught her to do years ago. It cools your chicken down and makes it sweet and sour apparently. She stands by it.

I actually think sweet and sour is the key to most weird food habits we have.

I know someone who puts soy sauce on ice cream. My friend’s mum used to make vegemite and honey sandwiches.

At boarding school there was a few people who pushed for tomato sauce on popcorn when we were watching a movie.

I know people who put jam on scrambled eggs and dip plain chips into Nutella.

When we were kids, dad was adamant the biggest treat he knew as a boy was a sugar sandwich.

If you have any friends from India you will know that some people love to cut up fruit and put salt pepper and lemon juice on it. It’s a proper salad. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

What about a jatz cracker with onion peanut butter and tomato sauce squirted on top. Quite the 70’s delicacy.
Last week my mum went to a lunch where strawberries were served with balsamic vinegar.

I am ashamed to admit it, and I haven’t had it for a long time, but I still love the toxic combination of Allens snakes and a gulp of diet coke.

As a kid I liked butter and vinegar on bread.

My favourite salad is watermelon, chilli and feta. Did you know olive oil gelato is a really popular flavour of gelato in Italy? Just drizzle a little extra virgin on vanilla ice cream, sprinkle a little salt and you’ll never go back.

I’ve never had it, but I know people pour a can of coke over a roasting chicken.
It’s very American to dip French Fries into apple sauce, and I think every one of us has dipped a chip into their chocolate sundae. Just to see what it tastes like.

I know someone who puts peanut butter onto every hamburger – either home made with rissoles or bought from a burger joint, the sandwich isn’t complete without peanut.

My cousin buys popcorn and maltesers for the movies. It was a happy accident 30 years ago but she’s passed it down to her kids.

There are a couple of over achievers. Peanut butter, banana and cheese seem to go with everything.
Banana on pizza, peanut butter on bacon, cheese and apple. Peanut butter, cheese and banana on each other.
If it tastes good to you, go for it. What’s your weird food combination?
